Since, opening in December 2004, the Niswonger Performing Arts Center has hosted a wide range of events. Concerts have featured Gladys Knight, The Beach Boys, Kenny Rogers, Tony Orlando, Jim Brickman, The Oak Ridge Boys, The New Orleans Preservation Jazz Band, Boots Randolph, the Peking Acrobats, Nova Scotia's DRUM! and more. Businesses have held seminars and training sessions, local non-profits have had fundraisers, and new citizens and their families have gathered annually for the naturalization ceremony. The Center has been the site for lectures, a local pageant, luncheons and galas. Area schools have brought their talented choirs and bands to play for the community and relatives. As a recipient of educational grant money from state and local governments, the Center has provided a variety of school day events for students to enjoy.
