DOGWOOD PARK CONCERT SERIES 2013 PREPARATIONS UNDERWAY!
Greeneville Parks and Recreations for the fifth consecutive year present a series of concerts at Dogwood Park. The Ginny Kidwell Amphitheatre located at the park host a series of Free Public Concerts starting in late May and running through August. These concerts include local talent as well as regional and some national acts. Each concert is designed to not only showcase our local talent but they are also themed to include many styles of today’s music. Last year’s concerts included Contemporary Christian, classic rock, classic country, R&B and with the last show of the year being co-hosted with Rural Resources singer song writer Darrel Scott concluded the 2012 season. Last year’s final show also included a Fireworks Show sponsored by The Creamy Cup coffee shop.
As preparations for this year’s concert series begin we must say thanks to the sponsors and volunteers that put in countless hours and effort to make these concerts a reality. Thanks must also go out to the folks that attended these concerts and have been so supportive. Each year the attendance has grown and the involvement of local small business has grown also. Creamy Cup and Top Dog are now regulars serving hot food and cold drinks.
With the addition of Special Park lighting provided the Greeneville Light and Power’s Round Up Program, concerts can now begin later in the afternoon making a more comfortable concert experience. Also on the drawing board for Dogwood Park is a permanent concession stand which will include restrooms. Parking has also been addressed with the addition of a parking field adjacent to the concert area. Handy cap parking is also available.
THE 2013 DOGWOOD PARK CONCERT SERIES BEGINS MAY 26th.
