Bob Weaver himself has been selling merchandise in Greeneville/Greene County and the East Tennessee area since 1974, but his retailing background began years earlier with the F.W. Woolworth Co. in Richmond, Va.
In 1962 he helped start the Woolco Department Stores, a division of Woolworth.
After several years with Woolco, he joined
Howard Bros. Discount Stores and managed the Howard Bros. store in Greeneville before becoming a district manager with that company.
In 1985 he went with the Howard family in a venture of opening membership warehouse clubs, which were later merged with Sam's Clubs.
In 1990, he opened the TSC Super Store, an independent discount store, in the Towne Square Shopping Center in the building previously occupied by a Parks-Belk Department Store. He operated that store until the end of 1997, when it closed.
Weaver opened his first Bob's Factory Outlet Store in 1999.
In 2001, he opened a second Bob's Factory Outlet store, on the East Andrew Johnson Highway.
In 2003, he opened in the West Greene Shopping Center along the Asheville Highway.
